Since 2015 she has lived in the United States, where she studies at the Broadway Method Academy in Connecticut.
And on Monday Mariam Mamadashvili proved that she takes her musical theatre training very seriously indeed as she released her Junior Eurovision 2016 song “Mzeo” (Sun).
Channeling Broadway and West End divas alike, the kiddie queen serves it vocally while singing about her love of all things bright and sunny: “You are beautiful sun, come and shine, I love you sun, colour our day, You are beautiful sun, come and shine.”
Eat your heart out, Little Orphan Annie…
Mariam has been singing since age 4 and she has studied at Bzikebistudio — the studio that has worked with so many of Georgia’s Junior Eurovision greats — and also at Evgeni Mikeladze State Central Music School.
She has participated in countless concerts and TV shows, delivering a killer cover of Loreen’s “Euphoria” on national television.
The Georgian contender was selected by an expert jury, consisting of Rusudan Bakhtadze (vocal coach), Nato Dumbadze (producer), Zaza Orashvili (director), Nika Kocharov (singer, ESC 2016 participant ), Lizi Pop (singer, JESC 2014 participant).
They internally selected Mariam after judging entries sent in to Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) .
“Gabede” composer Giga Kukhianidze will work on the song together with Mariam Mamadashvili.
What do you think of the song? Are you feeling its optimistic message? And what about Mariam’s vocals?

Smile rises in the sky
Rays of hope rise
I will sing a song
Full of happiness
Smile is mine, yours ours.
Sun color our days
You are beautiful sun, come and shine
love you sun, color our day
You are beautiful sun, come and shine…
I need this sun for you as well
I safeguard morning
From sky happiness is falling
Winter is no longer cold
The sun is ours
I love you sun, color our day
You are beautiful sun, come and shine…
Shine, love you sun
Smile is mine, yours ours.
Sun color our days
You are beautiful sun, come and shine
I love you sun, color our day
How I love you Sun, Come and shine , Sun

Wow! she sounds really great. I love her voice. for 10 years old girl <3
@Roelof Meesters
I’m not sure either but I think “My Girls” is a pop song too.
@jj: thank you. The age should work in her favor. All things equal, a younger performer should get higher jury vote. So far there are only 2 other 10 year olds-Lidia and Klesta. It will be interesting to see how these young girls will handle the pressure.
This piece calls her a “teen queen” but a recent junioreurovision.tv says she is 10.
How old is she?
@DenizNL Never mind. 🙂
GREAT SONG FOR ME, VERY BROADWAY AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED. TOP 5 FOR ME, BUT RUSSIA WILL WIN I HOPE.
Just what we needed…
(J)Esc Fanatic Lat year i thought Australia had a pop song, but everyone said it was a ballad, and this year Australia and Bulgaria are very similar, so yeah 🙂 I personally think hose two and Russia are poppy-like ballads, but i don’t know music-genres XD
The song is pretty repetitive and annoying. The first two minutes are not bad but the final one is… very. At least she has a great voice.
@Roelof Meesters
Australia and Bulgaria should be in the category “Girls with pop songs”.
Pretty girl, nice lyrics, but this is too Broadway for me. I agree that there are too many ballads this year, although some of the ballads are more modern or original and therefore stand out for me (the Bulgarian song, for example, is R&B and mid tempo, so arguably it is not a ballad, and Klesta and her song are amazing). Mariam’s song is very retro and I will be surprised if it does well with the kids. Given that amazing ballads last year, such as Netherlands and Irealand (both of them in my personal top 5) scored low, I… Read more »
Thank you DenizNL, but i don’t want to be negative to beccaboo, she is probably one of the best fans of the contest. I’m using this because i’m sad i don’t like her song, i’ts nothing against her. She sings it really well, i am sorry she to sing this pretty bad song <3 to everyone
Stunning voice, from the second chorus until the end it’s completely perfect. It stands out among most ballads, but my favorite remains Poland.
@beccaboo
He can do what he wants. You are not his boss.
Is that an umbrella she’s wearing as a dress?
@beccaboo1212 as far as I can see that’s a smiley face not a frown?
@Roelof Meesters If you’re gonna write negative comments about this year’s entry, DO NOT use the “frowning face” unless Wiwibloggs publishes an article about a past Eurovision star having passed away or any countries refusing to take part in future Eurovision-related events.
I was not expecting this from Georgia, but I’m cool with it

You’re right, but i love almost all the songs, so i don’t complain 🙂
How many girls with ballads are there now, 5? 6? They need to stop this balladmania right now. At least it’s not horrible.
This is gonna do well with the juries if she can deliver live, it’s middle table for me, I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either, could grow on me
I don’t like it 🙁 Georgia is third year in a row my last 🙁
Good. Now I’m waiting for Malta and Israel. 🙂
