In his Eurovision 2016 song he encouraged Europe to slow down.
And surely Douwe Bob wants that message to apply to anyone driving on the streets of Amsterdam, as he has endured an unfortunate collision that left him with a scrape on his cheek, and bruised arms, knees and hips.
Speaking with The Netherlands’ 3FM, the singer-songwriter expained precisely what happened.
“I sat on the back of a light moped scooter and then an old-timer crashed into us. I was catapulted and the actual driver [of the scooter] was not hurt, quite extraordinarily.”
The 23-year-old was reportedly speaking slowly and struggling to find words during the interview, owing to his regime of painkillers. “Morphine does a lot for you,” he said.
Despite his injuries, Douwe Bob will perform at the Zwarte Cross fesival this weekend. He can’t play with his injured arm, so has hired a guitarist to strum for him while he sings.
Ouch! Hope he will recover soon.
Those question marks were emojis…
I’m here if you need a hand, Douwe! ????????
