Every week our team of global correspondents publishes around 40 stories. With the Wiwi Round Up, we review some of our favourites. Last time we asked whether Trijntje’s live performance saved “Walk Along” and we sang the praises of Hungary’s A Dal 2015. This week we’re reviewing national finals in Belarus and Albania, and looking back at Eurovision 2014. What a year it was!
You can watch our full discussion below, or check out the running order and skip to the specific topic that titillates you the most. Enjoy the music! And please note: The holidays delayed us a bit, and we actually recorded this on December 29.

I heard Sergey Lazarev’s eurovision song and also his other songs. Wowww y’all ! He is one of those people who are simply born for stage. I’m so glad I discovered him. Alexandra may have a great voice but she has no charisma at all. Reminds me of Dina Garipova.
Loved this, another great wiwi round up! Even though it did badly, my favourite moment of 2014 was my first listen to Children Of The Universe, because it was a great song, and it was like WOW my country are taking it seriously again! I mean, I was pissed off when it came 17th, but now reflecting, she is the stat of something better. The UK are going to keep sending amazing songs now I think, and I honestly think we can get a win before 2020. Long-term hopes yes, but its better than it has been. Biggest disappointment…Russia managing… Read more »
My absolutely fovourite moment in 2014 was when San Marino and Valentina qualified. She totally deserwed it!!
Sergej Lazarev song is bad typical song we heard before
Just so you know, I didn’t watch the whole video, just the Russian bit because when I saw it I actually thought they had chosen their act. Also good Sweden came third. France should have gotten nil points as the song was DREADFUL! Yay again for Valentina Monetta, and San Marino. Slovenia should have done better. Spain should have done better. Armenia should have done worse. And Norway. It was a good song Norway, just boring. Oh, and Hungary…really? A song about child abuse, sorry (gonna get a lot of hate for this) but it should’ve done worse. Portugal didn’t… Read more »
I like Sergey Lazarev’s song, if it goes to Eurovision, it will be my favourite (so far). I have to say though it is a typical/average pop song with somewhat tedious lyrics but I like how the song actually ends, unlike songs that just fade out (especially Nadezhda’s “Sokol” which is why I only gave 9/10), but it won’t be the end of the world if Alexandra goes instead. Looking back at 2014, my biggest question…WHY DIDN’T MEI FINEGOLD REACH THE FINAL!? OK, since saying that, my problem with her performance was that it was a little overdone, they are… Read more »
