This week, it’s Malta’s turn to choose their act for Eurovision 2025. The Mediterranean island is buzzing with anticipation ahead of their selection show, MESCMalta Eurovision Song Contest.

Back when the 24 competing songs were first released, we asked y’all to vote for your favourite amongst the pack.

After counting up 3,095 votes in total, we’re now in a position to reveal the results…

Miriana Conte is a favourite to win Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025

Topping the poll by a strong margin is Miriana Conte.

Miriana’s song “Kant” — meaning “Singing” in English — turned a lot of heads upon first release, and also earned the singer a plethora of fans. This resulted in 765 votes being sent her way, which is a quarter of all the votes cast.

After finishing ninth at MESC 2024, the diva is back and ready to truly serve this year.

In second place, we find Kantera. The folk band bring a fresh flavour to Malta Eurovision Song Contest, along with a very lengthy song title. “LalaRataTakeke LalaRataKabum” picked up 507 votes in our poll — that’s 16.38% of the total.

The bronze medal in this instance is awarded to Kristy Spiteri, who was only slightly behind Kantera. For many of our readers, Kristy truly is “Heaven Sent” — she secured 479 votes, which is 15.48%.

The truth

Nah. Hopefully not. This is just a gimmick song. It is just cheap clickbaiting – a song completely sung in English than having just one word in Maltese to tease the censors. And the meaning is what it is – following the modern idiom – serving c*nt; as no one would say serving singing which would be silly and ridiculous.
Besides Miriana, although having a good stage presence and good vocals is not very well liked by the general Maltese public.
I think she would be an unpopular choice.

I think it’s safe to say that people are mostly voting for Miriana for the meme of it all.
And as funny as it would be to see on the ESC stage, I think there are better options if people want something silly and fun.

Heaven sent is the only one that will do well in both jury and televote.
This song will fail with the jury bad

Think that’d be shooting for my last place if they picked it. Such a gimmick song. Wow you found a way to say a swear word on a generic pop song. Great?
